National English Honor Society Committee 2020-2021
The National English Honor Society in Oaxaca, based at Instituto Blaise Pascale is honoured to present its Board for the academic year 2020-2021. The Board will be made up of:
Alejandro Castro Salazar – President 2020-2021
Jose Carlos Revilla Cervantes – Vice President 2020-2021
Ghana Inés Miroslava Chavez Garcia – Treasurer 2020-2021
Romain Sanvoisin – Secretary 2020-2021
Georgina Martinez Gracida English – Public Relations 2020-2021
The students will be inducted into their new roles in September, where they will take the oath to work in the best interests of the National English Honor Society, at an international level, and to work in the best interests of students and school they serve.
The Board members have been chosen for their dependability, enthusiasm and vision and will be working to lead the members of the National English Honor Society in Oaxaca during the academic year 2020-2021 by organising a series of literary events for both the membership and the community in general, by fundraising to support their projects, and by working to complete a range of projects on a local, state, national and international level.
The inaugural President of the National English Honor Society in Oaxaca, Alejandro Lapuente Tenorio (2019-2020), said: “I am happy to see that the work that my committee and I have put into founding the National English Honor Society in Oaxaca is going to be carried on by such a capable group of people.”
The Chapter Advisor of the Oaxaca chapter of the NEHS, Christopher Lockwood, commented: “The new committee have pledged to continue to excellent work of the founding members of the National English Honor Society and work to support literary study in English not only among their school community, but also across the state of Oaxaca”.
The Principal of Instituto Blaise Pascale, Blanca Luz Diaz Aguilar, the host school for the National English Honor Society in Oaxaca, said “I congratulate the students of the 2019-2020 class for having started this great challenge and those who follow them for continuing with it. Your interest, enthusiasm, dedication, perseverance and responsibility will be very important to the success of this new chapter.”
Each of the new Board members will dedicate a book to the National English Honor Society Library, housed at Instituto Blaise Pascale. The students have chosen the following texts:
